Francesco Sambo: Photography

I feel, Francesco has deliberately chosen to magnify these soft images - to create this inescapable intensity - interestingly though, even in their soft application, they are able to be so potent and declare themselves rather bleakly to us; the intrigued audience. My favourite of the series - the face with blacked out eyes, nose and mouth, hooded with a studded ensemble… Not knowing whether in pleasure or persecution, I watch her emerge from this dusky scene in hope that she'll be OK.
