Antony Micallef: Art

I am certain you agree that there is something eerily sinister about a child creating a scene, illustrative of the state in which we are engrossed in, invisible to some. A child in one of Antony Micallef's illustrations has brought everything he appears to know about the word 'corrupt' into a single drawing board: brand names, labels, products, human behavioural disorder, chaos, rivalry, money, junk food, exploitation, pollution... Life and death at war. These elements can be understood from all of Micallef's works.
The child himself wears Nike brand footwear. A product of his parents?
In many of his creations, the human forms BECOME the manmade diseases, implying, provoking, showing the truth.
